Samba, Bossa Nova, Baião, Afoxé and more brazilian rhythms are explained in traditional as well as modern context.

The most popular of all brazilian rhythms certainly is the Samba. But with Maracatu, Afoxé, Samba Batucada and Samba Reggae it has all sorts of variations.

In this course Patrick Metzger covers a multitude of traditional brazilian rhythms. The transfer to applying such rhythms in a modern pop context is made by discussing hits like “Smooth Operator” or “Nossa”. Patrick also covers traditional Caixa, Pandeiro and Agogo-Bell patterns.
